Treat Yourself To A Self-Care Day

July 8, 2026

Summer is supposed to be the time to kick back and relax—but, let’s be honest, sometimes it’s just as hectic as the winter holidays. You’re hosting dinners and coordinating vacations and dinners, the kids are out of school or back from college and, in addition to all of that, it’s so incredibly hot out.

If that’s how you’re feeling, this is your sign to take some time for yourself.

All around New Jersey, you’ll find beautiful spas and accommodations perfect for a quick daycation or overnight staycation. The best part is you’ll leave feeling great and with inspiration for the next addition to your home: a new soaking tub, rain shower or sauna, perhaps?

Pendry Natirar, Peapack. A “classic country estate,” this nearby escape is an idyllic retreat where the quiet is luxurious and the pace is slow. Spa Pendry is a sanctuary of style and serenity, with eucalyptus steam rooms, cedar saunas, rainfall showers and a salt room for halotherapy (said to both relax the body and reduce respiratory inflammation). Slip into the heated water of the “tranquility plunge” and then indulge in one of the world-class treatments, including botanical infusion facials, an hour-long lymphatic scrub, full body massages and much more. Afterward, enjoy a meal at one of four dining options on site, from upscale cocktails to gourmet takes on farm-to-table eats.

Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, Atlantic City. This is one of the most enticing offerings of the always-enticing Atlantic City, and don’t skip Spa Toccare next time you stop by this resort. Try a CBD infused massage, a “fire and ice” facial that alternates temperature to both soothe your mind and rejuvenate your skin and a gemstone-infused facial to deeply exfoliate. There’s also a full-service salon, if you decide you need a new ’do to complement your pampering. Then step out to eight dining options in the hotel alone.

SoJo Spa Club, Edgewater. This might be the buzziest day spa in the tri-state area, and for good reason. A frequent entry on “Best Of” lists nationwide, SoJo is a wellness wonderland with thermal pools and baths, saunas every massage treatment you can think of—and stunning rooftop views from a gorgeous infinity pool. There’s a silk bath, which infuses hot spring micro-bubbles into the water to nourish body tissue, and a carbon-rich bath, enriched with natural carbon dioxide to increases blood oxygen levels and improve circulation. Plus, there are Korean body scrubs, volcanic sand baths, aromatherapy and much more.

Wave Resort, Long Branch. Oceanfront luxury is at your fingertips at this Jersey Shore destination, just steps away from a beautiful sandy beach. Inside, the spa offers signature massages, rejuvenating body scrubs and carefully crafted aromatherapy, just to name a few, all in the revitalizing ocean air. The spa embraces that power, and crafts many of its treatments around the ocean’s best ingredients, like seawater balm and black sand. In addition to the beach’s proximity, you’re also in the heart of Long Branch’s Pier Village, filled with incredible dining and shopping.

Crystal Springs Resort, Hamburg. Along the edge of the Appalachian Mountains is this classic resort, also well worth a visit for the discerning golfer—it boasts six top-rated golf courses. There are two spas on site, both waiting to dazzle and sooth your worries away. Elements Spa has hand-painted earthscape walls that sparkle gently in the light while you treat yourself to signature facials, high-tech skincare like a radiance chemical peel, a full-body mud wrap and nearly a dozen different massage treatments. Crystal Springs is also lauded for its wine cellar, so make sure you stop by and indulge in a glass of something special before you leave.

Salt Spa at The Reeds at Shelter Haven, Stone Harbor. This destination blends effortless sophistication with a luxury boutique experience. Tucked inside is Salt Spa, where you can soak in the brine lounge, an inhalation salt room that promotes relaxation and well-being, or take advantage of the Turkish bath, where steam, aromatherapy, beautiful tiles and hot water combine for a relaxing experience. Book a facial so your skin sparkles, and a massage so you leave feeling your best.
