Who doesn’t relish a well-designed home tour? There’s nothing quite like stepping inside a thoughtfully curated space—experiencing its energy firsthand and the transportive effect of a carefully considered interior. If you’re craving just that, you can experience it five times over on June 5, all while supporting a meaningful cause.
The Helping Others Move Equitably (H.O.M.E.) Tour of Short Hills is back for another year, and it’s ready to wow. This tour will take you to five beautiful homes in the Short Hills area, each with a unique story to tell. A design style, an incredible renovation, a historic legacy—each was chosen for its distinctness and its narrative.

The event benefits The Warehouse NJ, a nonprofit that supports individuals and families as they transition into permanent housing following a crisis such as homelessness, domestic abuse or a natural disaster.
Says Margaret Santana, a community volunteer and the secretary of the Board of Trustees of The Warehouse NJ, “I’m really excited about the variety of the homes this year, and the interesting story each one brings.”
She singles out a few she thinks will stand out: “We have a historic home that’s been completely reimagined through a whimsical lens, a home filled with warmth and refinement that feels like you’ve just walked onto a magazine shoot and a home that’s designed to be environmentally friendly with a zero energy footprint, from solar panels to eco-friendly building materials.” The architect of the historic home will be on-site to talk about his design process, as will the homeowner of the eco-friendly home.
The tour is a celebration not only of beautiful design and architecture, but also of the importance of home itself—as a place where you put down roots and where your story is told.
Participants will also enjoy access to local architects, designers and home organizers, who will show their work and explain their vision, and a home color consultation done by Ricciardi Brothers and Farrow. There will be a gourmet food truck on hand for a quick pick-me-up, and guests are invited to gather afterward at The Boxcar Bar and Grill for specialty drinks and to chat about the homes
A special VIP ticket option is available, giving access to a cocktail reception on June 4 at a bonus sixth house.
“It’s going to be a full experience!” says Santana.
