The second half of winter can feel bereft of reasons to entertain. Thankfully, spring brings that to an end just as surely as it assures better weather. Easter and Passover are just around the corner (and Easter is early this year, on March 31), and there’s every reason to gather your family and friends together, put your new kitchen to good use and celebrate.
Whether you’re looking for classic or modern, understated or dramatic, check out five of our favorite dining room designs, each featured in NJ HOME, that will inspire your next springtime meal and get-together:
In Florham Park, Hillary K. Cohen designed a dining room with function in mind, but never at the sacrifice of form. Her client wanted the décor to reflect a more casual sensibility, and requested the dining room not feel too formal for everyday use. Cohen’s use of a paneled accent wall elevates the space without crowding it.
Bold was the name of the game in this Livingston project, where Kathryn Cook used eye-catching patterns and high contrast colors to create a design that reflected the homeowner’s adventurous nature.
The glittering custom chandeliers immediately catch one’s attention in this Holmdel home designed by Yelena Gerts. That’s not all the room offers, though—the lacquered wooden dining room table is also custom made, and gives the whole space an air of refinement and elegance.
The kitchen in this “elevated farm-style” home in Springfield, from the mind of Michal Rubin, combines dramatic millwork, wooden elements, tone-on-tone blues and barn-style chandeliers. The result is the perfect combination of comfort and glam.
Sarah Storms of Styled by Storms calls this South Orange dining room “fresh and elevated.” Her clients wanted a room full of color and comfort to host family gatherings, and Storms delivered in coastal blues and whites.
