Though we have a few days yet of summer (and autumn doesn’t officially start until the equinox, Sept. 22), the warm-weather season already has started winding down. Schedules are getting stricter, our outdoor pools are closed, nights are noticeably shorter and there’s a distinctive cooler note in the air.
Of course, autumn is the favorite season of many for a reason. Soon, New Jersey will be treated to a riot of fall foliage, and we’ll be indulging in baked goods and the company of loved ones. Cooler weather makes us want to bundle down and get cozy—and what place better to do it than your primary bedroom?

In this new construction in Chatham, designer Megan Pisano used a statement chandelier from Made Goods to add visual interest and a “wow” factor to an already quiet, contemplative space.
When given near free rein to update a cottage in Mendham, Anna Kroesser and Amelia Strat of Kroesser + Strat Design walked the line between elegance and comfort. The bedroom is no exception with a king-sized platform bed, Crump & Kwash side tables and an Alicia Eggert photograph.

Clean, modern and warm was the goal when Marissa Sauer of Design MACS took on a new construction in Westfield. The bedroom embodies just that, with a statement chandelier, natural textures and neutral tones. It’s relaxed refinement at its best.
In this high-rise condo in Highlands, Richard Scuderi of Mavin Hill Designs kept things nautical, but not kitschy. The circular mirror and accent wall make the space feel special, while dark wood furnishings add history and a luxe finish.
