9 Primary Bedrooms You’ll Never Want to Leave

October 8, 2024

Your home is your castle, but no space serves more as a sanctuary than the primary bedroom. It’s a room that’s all for you—a place for rest and rejuvenation.

How best to design this sanctum? We at NJ HOME flipped through recent issues to curate a collection of some of our favorite primary bedrooms for both your inspiration and pleasure.

From the seashell chandelier to the custom mother of pearl fireplace, this LBI bedroom soothes the same way a day at the beach does. Karen Wolf of K and Co. Living carefully evoked the ocean without falling into beach-theme clichés.

In Florham Park, Hilary K. Cohen of H-Co Interiors created a sense of intimacy in this spacious bedroom by designing in zones. While the bed invites slumber, one wouldn’t go wrong lounging on one of the velvet slipper chairs.

The splashy wallpaper is only the first of this Livingston bedroom’s delights. Designer Kathryn Cook of Kathryn Cook Interiors also added mirror-fronted nightstands and reflected the homeowner’s love of fashion with prints that reference Chanel.

Kristina Phillips let her imagination run wild when designing her own home in Ridgewood, with a bedroom that includes a custom-upholstered headboard and Asian-influenced window treatments.

In Monroe, Shelia Rich of Shelia Rich Interiors crafted an elegant, traditional bedroom with the glass candelabra light and the tufted headboard on the king-size bed.

In the experienced hands of House of Style and Design’s Yelena Gerts, the bedroom of this Monroe home is the perfect balance of refinement and serenity. The blush and cream tones are as pretty as they are practical.

This Beach Haven bedroom was given a rustic feel by Vanessa Romond, who used wood touches to ground the space. The round mirror above the bed is a perfect, subtle nautical touch.

In Saddle River, this bedroom, designed by Robyn Stevens of Silhouette Studios, strives to embody quiet and peace with its watery blue upholstery and round silk rug. The wealth of natural lighting is just icing on the cake.

In Warren, Pam Cooper of Cooper Interiors used color and pattern to bring this colonial to life. The mural behind this bedroom’s padded headboard was custom painted by New Jersey artist Grace Sharp.
