5 Kitchen Trends For 2023

October 18, 2022

The kitchen is at the heart of the home. It’s where families gather around the table to reconnect over recipes passed down through generations and build new memories. With so much time spent in the kitchen, it’s important to stay up-to-date with contemporary styles, décor and layouts. To help inspire your next kitchen project, here are 5 kitchen trends we’re seeing for 2023.

1-modern-kitchen

#1 Modern Kitchen – With open spaces, minimalist features and simple color palettes, the modern kitchen style offers a clutter-free way to relax and entertain. When homeowners go modern, they often forgo crown molding and elaborate hardware in favor of slab doors, clean lines and stylish simplicity.

#2 Upscale Cottage – The upscale cottage is a fresh take on the traditional cottage design. It often consists of a blend of two to three finishes, different textures, door styles and natural tones, with clean lines and an unfitted furniture look for a comfortable, family-living aesthetic.

#3 Light & Soft Colors – The desire to increase natural light with kitchen windows has inspired a lighter and softer color palette. Bright whites are being replaced with Irish cream, soft beiges, creamier whites, magnolia and natural green tones. From cabinets and flooring to wallpaper, backsplashes and paint choices, a return to lighter, softer colors is what homeowners are craving.

2-natural-flooring

#4 Natural Flooring – Kitchen floors are trending more natural looking, especially driftwood and sandy tones. Whether you prefer hardwood, laminate or vinyl flooring, a natural tone will complement the softer color palettes and natural lighting that are increasing in popularity.

#5 Bigger is Better – Homeowners love the versatility of big Islands and big pantries. Larger kitchen islands give you more room for entertaining, prepping, meals, work and more. Butler pantries offer the added convenience of a separate sink, microwave, water cooler, mini-kitchen and storage. Additionally, if you decide to go big, you could consider a minimalist perimeter to help your space feel even bigger.
